ECU Heat
ECU HEAT or the Franklin County Ecumenical Heating Fund:
Serves – Residents of Franklin County in need of a little financial help to stay warm.
Provides – The ECU HEAT SHARE program provides one 50-gallon fuel delivery (or equivalent in solid fuel) per household per heating season (November 1 – March 31). Oil, kerosene, wood, pellets, propane are all delivered by the applicant’s regular fuel vendor. Each applicant fills in the “$50 for Heat” application with needed information, attaches a $50 money order payable to the fuel vendor, and mails or delivers the form to Western Maine Community Action (WMCA) for processing. A delivery is made as soon as the fuel vendor is in the neighborhood again. The balance due for that delivery is paid by ECU HEAT, using funds raised by FAEM for that purpose.
Applicants may apply prior to November, or from November 1 through March 31. Applications are available at Western Maine Community Action, 20 Church St., E. Wilton, ME 04234 (or can be downloaded here: 20-21 EcuHeat Share Application). Deliveries are made only between November 1 and March 31.
FAEM would like to thank the many Franklin County Fuel Vendors who make deliveries of fuel for ECU HEAT. THANK YOU!
ECU HEAT funds come from the generous donations of churches, individuals, businesses, service organizations, the Sandy River Charitable Foundation, and United Way of the Tri-Valley Area.
FAEM holds a special fundraiser in December at Old South Congregational Church, featuring a Celtic musical group. A portion of the ticket proceeds is designated for ECU HEAT, as are donations for food at the intermission. Santa hats are passed after the intermission for donations to “keep our neighbors warm.” All donations by check are acknowledged as charitable contributions.
To Give – Please make checks payable to ECU HEAT and mail to:
